Breathitt County Schools is seeking vendors to submit a request for proposal to repair/patch asphalt surfaces at LBJ Elementary, Sebastian Middle School, and Breathitt High School.   The submittal deadline is July 27 at 9:00 AM.  The successful vendor will be chosen and notified by district administration on July 27, 2015 before 4:00 PM.  Interested vendors will need to contact Darrell Watts, Director of Facilities to obtain a copy of the Request for Proposal and/or schedule a walk-through of the project.

KENTUCKY TRANSPORTATION CABINET AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO BHS STUDENTS

William Todd Brewer, a 2015 graduate of Breathitt County High School, has been selected to receive a full scholarship from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to pursue a civil engineering technology degree at the Bluegrass Community and Technical College.

Andrew Rose, a 2015 graduate of Breathitt County High School, has been selected to receive a full scholarship from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to pursue a civil engineering technology degree at the Bluegrass Community and Technical College.

The scholarship, established in 2009, has been awarded to many exceptional students from throughout the state. Currently, the scholarship is worth $11,000 for an Associate of Science in Civil Engineering Technology. Students are offered the opportunity to work for the Cabinet during summer months as well as full-time employment upon graduation. Students are chosen based on performance in high school, ACT scores, aptitude in math and science, and an interest in engineering as a career.
