BHS Golf Team Competes in Region 11 Tournament

BHS Golf Team

What do Isaac Bellamy, Luke Bellamy, Weston Miller, and Blake Ritchie have in common?  They are all members of the BHS Golf Team and two-time champions of the All "A" Regional Golf Tournament.

This talented foursome also represented our school and district exceptionally well on Tuesday, September 28th by placing 5th out of 13 teams in the Region 11 Golf Tournament held at the Paintsville Country Club.

Although it marked the end of the season for team events, two of our golfers will advance to the KHSAA State Golf Championship in October and participate in individual areas.  Weston Miller, who shot 71, finished in 2nd place overall and qualified for his third consecutive trip to the state tournament.  "I am just thankful to make it to the state tournament again," he stated "and I hope to advance even further than I have in previous years."  Joining Weston this year will be 11th grade student, Luke Bellamy, who shot 75 and earned the 5th out of 7 spots to advance.  Luke becomes only the second BHS golfer to compete at the state level.  "I'm just excited to be going for my first time and look forward to the experience."

Congratulations to the BHS Golf Team on a highly successful year and "Good Luck" to Weston and Luke at state!
